A Lesson I Learn

•May 14, 2008 • Leave a Comment

Before graduating from junior school, all of the ninth graders had to study hard all the time in order to enter a good senior high school. I went to school library with a few friends every day and we always stuck together. Therefore, we gradually developed firm friend ship between us. However, I made a mistake when speaking with one of them, Linda, which resulted in an unpleasant experience between us.

On an ordinary day, I went to library with my friends and began to study. Suddenly, I saw a pretty girl sitting far from me and I told my friends excitedly. Linda wondered and asked me where the pretty girl was. Instead of telling her, yet I said, “Not you at all.” When I said those words, I thought that I was just kidding. However, she has never talked with me since then. In the beginning, I didn’t know why she didn’t want to talk with me, and I considered that maybe she was under the weather. Not until I ask another friend, and he told me the reason did I realized. I felt guilty and apologized to her to request her forgiveness. She has not forgiven me until graduating, and on my birthday she sent a message to me to wish me a happy birthday! I was glad and moved.

After that I learn a lesson. What you say may hurt someone when you think you are just kidding. Franklin said ”The mouth of a wise man is in his mind.”

Things I Like About Beitou

My home town Beitou is the suburb in Taipei city. The whole community is harmonious and peacefulness. Without the fast pace of a big city, Beitou is a quiet and restfulness place.

In Beitou, people can have a hot spring to relax themthelves and stay healthy. Hot spring, full of minerals, can stimulate blood circulation and cure people of several diseases. After soaking the hot spring, climbing Yang Ming Mountain will be a good activity. The air is fresh and the scene is spectacular. Beiou Library is the first green construction in Taiwan. It is constructed with woods! As a result, studying in that library always refreshes me.

Beitou is really a nice place for living. I have been living there for sixteen years. Though after entering university, I may not live in Beitou. However, Beitou will be the place I deeply rooted in my mind, never to be erased.

跟大鈞合照

This was the photo that was taken when I had a dance class in MRT Shuanglien Station. Because it was our dance teacher Terry’s birthday and he also had a class to us that day. We had been his students for one year and all of us loved him very much. To give him a big surprise, we prepared a big cake which came in “Domo Kun”, a cartoon figure from Japan that Terry liked very much, for him. When Terry came, we asked him to close his eyes and took him in front of the cake. As soon as he saw the cake, he was really surprised and touched.
Although we have to study for the exam now, we can’t have a dance class with him. We are also grateful for his instruction and hope that after the exam we can have a class from him one day.

In the English class last week, the teacher was talking about their country’s history. Because Mark wasn’t interested in history, he started to doze off. As he fell asleep, he had a dream. He dreamed that he would be a teacher in twenty years, and his students were dozing off in his English class.

However, as Mark was dreaming, he felt excited and his body started shaking. With his shaking body, the teacher was aware that he was dozing off and his teacher was mad and woke him up. While the teacher waking him up, he was mad too! It is because he was waking his students up in his dream too! What a funning thing! All his classmates were laughing at him.

To avoid this embarassing thing, Mark made up his mind not to doze off in class at all!

On a sunny day, Kelly took a walk in the park. There were lots of dogs, cats and birds, and blossoming flowers. Suddenly, Kelly saw a lovely cat and become attached to him home. However, she did not notice that there were more cats following her.

After coming home, Kelly asked her mother for allowing her to keep the cat. At first, her mother did not agree. Because they are living in an apartment and keeping a cat is banned. Finally, her mother granted her permission, but she said that Kelly could only keep one cat. However, after Kelly went back to the livingroom, a terrible thing happened! Five cats were messing up the room! Expectedly, Kelly finally receive a harsh punishment from her mother.

My Grandmother

My grandmother is a traditional woman. She is kind, gentle and very thoughtful. She and my grandpa brought me up in the country-side of  Taichung when I was a child until my father brought me back to Taipei because I had to enter primary school.

Although she was kind, she was strick with me to make me dependent. For example, she made me do all the things of my own even the housework. Furthermore, she taught me the manners and gold rules. She told me what is good and what is bad, what I should do and what I shouldn’t do.

I once thought that she is the most important person in my life. She is not merely my grandmother but also my teacher.

In the evening of valentine’s day, Amy was preparing a romantic dinner to celebrate this day with her boyfriend, David. Furthermore, Lucky, the dog they adopted, attended, too.

The smell of food filled the house, and Lucky was looking forward to the dinner. Suddenly, when Amy finished cooking. To her amusement, a gorilla came into the kitchen! Amy screamed and broke the dish on the floor. “Get out of here! “said Amy. Then she finally realized that the gorilla was her boyfriend, David.

David presented the flowers to her. “Merry Valentine’s Day. “said David.
